The Church was built in 1640 in an Italian style, on the top of Fijolčna Gora (Purple Hill - named because of the abundance of violets growing on the hill in past). Today the church has a Baroque rather than Gothic bell tower, which was added after construction of the main parts of the Church. The outside wall of the church was built around 1700 and contains the 13 stations of the way of the Cross. According to the legend, you can still hear water moving in an ancient lake, below the alter.
