Accompanied by expert interpretation, visitors can learn everything about the filling and disappearing of the karst phenomenon known as Lake Cerknica. The model is the first representation of the mechanics of this world renowned lake and precisely illustrates these natural processes.
Also displayed is an ethnological collection, comprising accessories used in traditional fishing, several old wooden ice skates, a dugout, and the tools used for cutting and storing ice. In the museum, visitors can also sit through a half-hour multimedia presentation, on the intermittent Lake Cerknica in all its diversity throughout the seasons.
